Empowering Future Innovators: Girls Camp in Zain Iraq

June 30, 2024

Submitted to ZAINIAC by Sally Saad and led by Zahraa Hazim, this initiative aims to provide valuable skills and inspiration to young girls, significantly impacting the community by promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. Through a specialized four-day training camp held at ZINC Iraq, we are addressing the gender gap in technology by providing exposure, building skills, and encouraging participation in STEM.

Key Achievements

  • Skill Development: Participants enhanced their technological skills through a combination of theoretical sessions and hands-on workshops.
  • Inspiration and Motivation: The camp introduced participants to successful female role models in technology, fostering inspiration and motivation to pursue careers in tech.
  • Networking Opportunities: The initiative established a support network of peers and mentors, offering ongoing guidance and opportunities for future growth.
  • Community Impact: The broader community, including schools, families, and the tech industry, benefited from promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM fields.

Sustainable practices were incorporated, such as using eco-friendly materials and promoting digital resources. This commitment to sustainability aligns with the broader goals of promoting green skills and awareness among participants.

The camp's success lays a strong foundation for future programs and initiatives aimed at bridging the gender gap in technology.
