Idea:
Creation of a Task Priority System/Platform
Considering the fast-paced environment of today’s work environment, employees can be overwhelmed with a high volume of tasks at once with no clarity on how these tasks should be prioritized. This can result in confusion and low efficiency. To tackle this, the Task Priority System/Platform will allow employees to manage their workload with a clear image of the tasks that need to be done, their deadlines, and the ability to rank the tasks according to priority. This system/platform will also include customized features focused on employee wellness, such as a relaxation timer that prompts wellbeing-related reminders. This system will benefit employees as it provides them with an efficient and customizable approach to their workload, while also enabling collaborative task management and easy reporting.

Idea:
Onboarding of a Mental Health Specialist into the HR department at Zain
The specialist will be responsible for conducting frequent meetings, one-to-one, with all employees at all levels in the hierarchy. Their goal will be to understand and improve the relationships employees have within their departments and with their managers. As surveys are already conducted to identify these types of challenges, the specialist will be able to consider the input they receive alongside the results of these surveys to generate a general idea of the mental health issues that are prominent at Zain and devise a plan to solve these.

Idea:
Introducing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs and mental health training for managers
MBSR programs are designed to support an individual’s ability to manage their stress and anxiety through mindfulness practices, such as meditation, breathing exercises, and yoga. These programs can be implemented within the workplace or can be taught to employees to conduct on their own time. On the other hand, mental health training for managers would equip managers with the tools necessary to create a supportive work environment, including a culture of compassion and understanding that will benefit employee satisfaction and ultimately their performance.

Idea:
Workplace Stress Management Program
Workplace stress has become a major phenomenon experienced by employees due to an array of stressors. As excessive stress can hinder an employee’s satisfaction and performance, it must be addressed proactively. This program would include stress counseling sessions, either at a group level or individually, conducted by a qualified counselor. The counselor will listen, provide feedback, and offer customized methods for coping with stressors. This program will also include Stress Management Seminars that teach employees stress management techniques and ultimately help them improve their quality of life at work and in their leisure time. Finally, this program will include forming a handbook focused on mitigating stress and improving mental health with a policy that enforces this.

Ultimately, these ideas are aimed at providing employees with a safe and healthy environment that considers their individual needs and prioritizes their well-being above all. We look forward to seeing these ideas play out and the improvements they will bring to Zain.
